Summer Things
by Kathy Warnes
Squishing sun tanned toes in the warm beach sand.
Gathering sea shells walking hand and hand,
Cool swimming on hot June afternoons,
Riding waves and chasing the July moon.
Summer brings:
Lounging under umbrellas in the shade,
Sipping August glasses of lemonade,
Sunglasses sleeping on sunburned noses,
Jogging to contour bikini poses.
Summer Sings:
Chants of garden weeding and lawn mowing,
Clamor of corn and tomatoes growing,
Join in the song of summer everyone,
Sing long and loud so summer won’t be done!
